Partridge Family Singer Charged with DUI

November 4, 2010-According to reports by a Los Angeles DUI lawyer, Partridge Family singer David Cassidy arrested for DUI. According to officials David Cassidy the former singer of the Partridge Family has been charged with driving under the influence in Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Cassidy age 60 was stopped at approximately 6:00 p.m. Wednesday on the Florida Turnpike after weaving on the road an nearly causing an accident.

Cassidy allegedly told Florida Troopers that he had drank a glass of wine at lunch and had then taken a hydrocodone pill ay 3:30 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol officers reported they found a half empty bottle of bourbon in the back seat of the vehicle.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol Cassidy failed a field sobriety test and two breath tests that were given at the St. Lucie County Jail. One of the breathalyzers showed a 0.139 and the other a 0.141, both above Florida’s legal limit of 0.08.
Cassidy posted $350 bail and was released from the St. Lucie County jail on Thursday.

Cassidy’s spokewoman Jo-Ann Geffen stated he admitted to taking a pain pill and intends to fight the driving under the influence charge. Geffen also stated that he was tired from attending a funeral. The spokeswoman stated Cassidy insists he was not drunk and would not jeopardize anyone on the road. He is currently looking for an attorney.
